The Refúgio Collection stems from the desire to explore the intersection of distinct materials. The wooden (Jequitibá) base brings lightness to the soapstone container, a type of rock traditionally used as a raw material for utensils in Brazil, abundant in Minas Gerais. Brass, meanwhile, hides preciously within the pieces, creating an atmosphere of refuge. The golden metal creates distinct typologies that reveal themselves as support, comfort, and protection, sometimes as a lid, divider, or base.

 

Comprising four tabletop objects and three candlesticks, the collection features pieces that can be used individually or together, enabling compositions of pots, vases, fruit bowls, object holders, candle holders or decorative elements.

 

The wooden base and stone container are hand-turned. The natural materials impart a unique tone and texture to each piece, creating a unique identity.
